Glenavon U15's beat Wallasey Wanderers 10-1 to clinch the league title for 2007/8 season win number 20 from 20.

The whole squad played tonight using roll on roll off subs to let all the lads be a part of the celebration, which has been a fantastic achievement this season by each and every player.

The boys cruised through this game with ease, playing there normal flowing football working as one unit.

Hard work, determination, character has been the key to this seasons success. They fully deserve to be crowned Wallasey Junior League U15s Champions for 2008. Well done lads, you have all worked very hard for your success.

Our defence has been very strong this year. The midfield lads have worked there socks off all season, and the wide players & strikers have finished it all off in style.

Congratulations goes to Manager Mike Docherty & Assistant Ben Harrison, in keeping the boys focused throughout this year. Well done Mike & congratulations once again.

This team can only improve next season & we will be an even stronger force to beat.

Congratulations Glenavon U15 boys, you have been brilliant, and you will be rewarded at the presentation as  CHAMPIONS 2008!

Glenavon U15s gained another impressive result today against title rivals Greenleas, with a very hard working 2-1 win. That's win number 19 from 19. Still the 100% record stays intact.

With just 3 games left of the season what a fantastic effort the whole squad has put in. To remain with a 100% tally from the whole season without dropping a single point would be fantastic. So come on lads finish off this season in style!

A great game today between 2 fine teams, with the boys again coming out winners against Greenleas (completing the double over them this season).

It was a hard working battling performance from the lads in this game today, in all areas of the pitch. From defence to midfield and up to the strikers, all worked hard as a unit and played some fine football.

Strikes from Chris Durrant & Curt Jones gave us the points. The midfield players where excellent. Tom Thorpe, Curt Jones & Liam Randles worked there socks off for the team.

Three games left now lads, so let's go for the maximum points and win our remaining games.

Once again a big well done to the whole squad. The boys that didn't get a game today are a big part of this team. They have contributed so much to the squad this season and have played a big part in the teams success. A big well done to all these lads and has not gone unnoticed, keep it going right to the end BOYS !!

Sun 15 Mar 2008

Due to a very depleted squad for this game the lads battled once again to overcome a tricky game from and improving Upton side.

Glenavon put out a weakened team due to players being away or injured. Tom Thorpe & Tom briggs had to keep goal as 'Tikky', our regular keeper, was absent, along with 4 other main 1st team players.

These absentees from the squad showed today, as we had to shuffle the boys around a bit from there usual positions.

A 2-2 half time score left us with a bit to do in the 2nd half to win this game, but the lads again battled through to show their determination to run out easy winners in the end.

Man of the match for this game was CURT JONES, and I have to say he was superb today. Not only did he score 4 out of the 6 goals, but was instrumental in everything we did. A real gutsy, hard working performance from Curt.

That's win number 16 from 16 for the lads, and march on relentlessly forward to the next challenge.

The lads showed immense character in this game in difficult circumstances. So well done boys for getting on with the game and doing your talking with your football.

KEEP IT GOING LADS ! AND A BIG WELL DONE !

This was a fine battling performance from the lads, coming from 2-1 down at half time.

They showed great character to come back and win the game 3-2 from a good Greenleas team, who are our main challengers for the league title!

Two goals from striker Chris Durrant and a great strike from central defender Scott Hearndon, took both points.

The U15's 100% record is still in tact. No one can be singled out at this game as the whole team played really well. They battled for a great win away from home at a difficult venue.

This was Greenleas 1st defeat of the season, so a great big well done to the lads. Keep it going right to the end of the season.

Sun 2 Mar 2008

This was a potential banana skin of a game for the lads against a team in the lower ranks of the division. One of those games the boys tend to think has already been won before the kick off !!!

They ran out 5-1 winners at the end, but struggled at times to find the net especially the 1st half.

It sounds like a convincing win, but the usual flowing attacking football the lads like to play wasn't quite there at times.

But the 5-1 win keeps us top of the table still. They know they can play a lot better than this, and they will have to do so in the coming months to finish off a great season in style. Simple football, easy passing as a team that's the way we have played all season!

Keep it going boys. Tougher tests are ahead of us. Concentration and hard work is what we still need to finish off a fantastic season for the whole squad.
