FA Charter Standard

The FA Charter - Raising The Standard

At Glenavon Junior Football Club we were proud to be amongst the first in the United Kingdom to achieve FA Charter Standard Community Club status. And, following a vigorous assessment process, our Charter Status has been renewed for a further 3 years.

The award clearly demonstrates that at Glenavon young players are able to develop their football skills in a safe, fun environment.

The club is a member of the Wallasey Junior league and is affiliated to the F.A. via the Cheshire County Football Association.

The F.A. Charter Standard Clubs programme, supported by England Team Sponsor Nationwide, was launched in February 2001 with the aim of setting standards of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people.

The programme is aimed at boys and girls under sixteen years old and will help children and parents find a club in their local area that meets F.A. standards.

The project is at the heart of The Football Association’s investment programme for grassroots football to improve facilities and coaching across the country.

The Charter Standard incorporates the following key achievements:

  • Coaches are qualified to a minimum standard of FA Junior Team Manager Award

  • All coaches are registered with the Football Association and have been checked against the Child Protection Register.
  • Glenavon has a club constitution with elections for club officials.
  • Players, coaches, Club Officials, and the parents and guardians of all boys and girls are all bound by a strict code of conduct ensuring exemplary behaviour at all times.
Glenavon JFC is committed to the following ideals:
  • Recruitment of both boys and girls.
  • Support for Mini Soccer at Under 10 and below.
  • Development of team coaches.
  • Links in the Community.
  • Fund Raising and Equipment Purchase.
  • Child Protection Procedures.
  • Equal Opportunities & Anti Discrimination Policies.
